Taking Nebraska today -16 against Iowa.
I will post any info I get in this thread for the season. Looking forward to another great season here at Locksville!
Davison, who is the color analyst for the Husker radio broadcast team, saidNebraskacould have a special season this fall.
“I think offensively we have some guys who are pretty special,’’ he said. “If the offensive line can put it together we can be good. Defensively, I think the front seven are little questionable but the backend is pretty good. Some guys will have to step up their game from a year ago and if they do we have a chance to win a lot of games. I think it will be a fun season.’’

Getting 21.5 from my local so I am taking S.Miss + the points today. I think the S. Miss special teams will make the difference in this game and keep it closer than this.

S. Miss special teams showed up but I did not expect 350 yards & 5 TD's from Martinez! I will update on Burkhead left knee injury when I get any info this week.

Coach Bo Pelini of 17th-ranked Nebraska says injured running back Rex Burkhead is questionable for Saturday's road game against UCLA. Pelini said Monday an MRI confirmed Burkhead mildly sprained a ligament in his left knee early in the opener against Southern Mississippi. The coach said if he were to put together a travel roster now, Burkhead would be on it.

Rex Burkhead likley to NOT PLAY until Wisconson game. That happens to be a special game for him where there will be a "Jack Out" day suporting a kid with pediatric brain cancer that Burkhead has become very close friends with. Many fans will be wearing Jack Out shirts and Burkhead has been wearing a bracelet for quite some time. It is becoming a very big thing here in Nebraska right now. More info can be found on the Caring Bridge website.

Nebraska's defense was exploited, allowing 653 yards and 36 points to UCLA last week. Cornhuskers’ coach Bo Pelini says running back Rex Burkhead's status against Arkansas State remains uncertain and he’s still considered day-to-day with a knee injury

Both teams are ranked among the top 20 in the nation in total offense after two games, including Arkansas State at No. 7 and Nebraska at No. 16.
local has NEB -26.5
strong lean to Ark St. (Husker D is still unproven)

THE ASU-NEBRASKA SERIES: Saturday’s game will be the second meeting ever between Arkansas State and Nebraska. The two teams first met in 2009, when the Huskers claimed a 38- 9 victory at Memorial Stadium in front of a crowd of 85,035, the fifth largest to ever watch an Arkansas State game.

LIGHTING UP THE SCOREBOARD: With 34 and 33 points scored in its first two games this season, A-State has now posted at least 30 points in their last eight consecutive games dating back to last season. The Red Wolves scored 30 or more points in eight games during the 2011 season, the most since 1951 when it hit the total 10 times. THEY CALL HIM THE STREAK: Senior quarterback Ryan Aplin has thrown at least one touchdown pass in 12 consecutive games, has thrown for at least 300 yards the last four in a row and recorded over 300 yards total offense in his last five outings. Aplin has now passed for at least 200 yards 24 times in his career and all 24 have come over ASU’s last 29 games. He also has 15 career games with over 300 yards of total offense.

Since taking over at Nebraska, head coach Bo Pelini is 3-13 ATS as a double-digit favorite against BCS conference opponents. Last year we saw Nebraska falter both times as double-digit home chalk in Big Ten play including a straight up loss to Northwestern. Wisconsin trounced Nebraska 48-17 last year in Madison as 9.5-point home chalk so this is a revenge spot for Big Red but I'm not sure the gap has closed enough to warrant this big of a pointspread adjustment (Note: Nebraska was a short home favorite earlier this summer according to the Golden Nugget’s CFB Game of the Year lines). No doubt this isn’t your typical Wisconsin outfit but I think we have a really good “buy low” opportunity with the road underdog.

FYI-I just copy and paste most of this stuff!! Local has Huskers -15.5 this week vs. Whisky Burkhead did not look 100% last week with a knee brace on. The NU second string QB looked pathetic! Hope we don't need to bring him in. Most interesting thing of this game, other than it was the first game my boys have been to, was the crowd! The wave was epic lasting at least 15 minutes going regular speed then slow motion then high speed and splitting to go both directions at the same time. There are a couple you tube videos of some of it but you really had to be there to experience how much fun it was. More on this Sat. game later.

local down to 13.5 with RB Bell listed as playing now. Neb. seems to have a way of not playing well in games like this. Going with Huskers today but not very big.

Here's the way I see this one. Local has Ohio State -3. Huskers will have to pass to advance the ball. Ohio St. will stop the running of Burkhead and a couple of Neb. turnovers will likely lead to Ohio St. points. Huskers "D" is very vulnerable against the pass and with a very good running QB against them I expect the play action pass to eat them up for lots of yards. Going with Ohio State -3. (I have been wrong on every Nebraska game this season)LOL
Biggest Factor in this match is Urban Meyer vs. Bo Pelini! No question who is a better coach imo.

Expecting Husker "D" to contain Robinson. He is NOT a very good passer and WILL turn the ball over at least one time. Burkhead resting will not be an issue for the offence. Defence just needs to close the middle to the quick slant pass and should make for a long day for the Mich. "O". Deep stable of backs will wear down Mich. by 4th quarter. Still waiting for local line to bet this one. Lots of speculation about the "Blackshirts" being handed out to the defence elite very soon. This is a HUGE DEAL on team level. Look for a very fired up husker team (and crowd) this week.
