honestly finding it tough to gauge this card from a $$ persective. i will post my opinions on some but i decided to play a 3-fighter parlay that i feel can win for a small amount.
boestch-davis-hendricks $25 to win $20.68
opinions
alves
**hard to cap a guy coming off major brain surgery but i think he will win. i think his takedown defence is good enough and he has good size to weigh down on fitch should he stuff a few. his clinch is better, his striking is better and he has great legs kicks. fitch cannot hang standing and needs to grind the wrestling not sure he can but again whats alves conditioning going to be like after the layoff?
silva
i like sonnen alot. he will take the fight to silva and just push hard. u have to love that but silva has precision striking and speed. his bjj is world class and his guard is scary long and rubbery. i see no reason way silva cannot defend the takedown and if he does he should be fine PLUS doesn't sonnen always seem to get caught or close to caught almost every fight from top position? i want to bet sonnen so bad just cannot.
dos anjos-guida
both can win this. guida has to grind and lay and pray whole 15m, dos has a few more options and i would favour him but guida has shown lately he can pla a safe gameplan and that is key for him.
nelson
why not? i think if he fights a boxing match he flat out gets crushed, if he tries to move around and counter backing up he gets crushed however if he plays the small, close range game and utilizes the clinch and fence alla randy couture he can win this. if the fight goes on an on it favours him. dos santos has vast skills but he really sticks to the boxing and i know this will be the plan so i think nelson if he decides to duck and grab has a fighting chance.
almeida
i have bet this. i see no reason why almeida cannot win this. he is big and strong and we all know his mat skills which include grappling. he is more than just bjj. hughes is older and his striking still sucks, and hughes has not shown in any of his recent fights he is willing to just take fights straight down.
saunders-hallman
interesting one. saunders is dangerous, great clinch and good submissions. his size is a big asset. hallman surprized me against howard. his takedowns and grappling were good. i think saunders gets put down easy because he doesn't care if it gets there, so i would favour big ben because then he has the freedom to let the hands and feet go.
hazelett
story doesn't have the pop in his striking to really end this fight. and the long it goes on the fight hazelett wins the longer it goes with story landiing takedowns and having top control the greater chance hazeltt grabs a submission. story has to play safe and lay and pray. one blink he will pay with a broken arm. i like hazelett, again long layoff and injury to hard to gauge.
struve
he gets better and better each fight. the day this man figures his size could be a very dangerous day. he is getting more and more comfortable with his striking and this fight will be a striking fight before morecraft realizes he has to open up to reach him and to surpass his toughness, once that occurs morecraft is done. i also like that if or whne it gets down it will be struve on his back(pulls guard off the cage) and slaps on a submission.
